Here is what Mr Yum (the creator of this chat) posted on the Big Gulp message board about sex (sometimes referred as "yiff") on Yum-Chat:
There is a line in the introduction to Yum-Chat that states there will never be any sexual restrictions on RPs... but come on, some folks have abused that line way, way too much!
To start with, to me anyway, vore IS sex! You cannot unlink the two. That's why I put that line in. It simply increases the intensity of the scene for me if the fem I am eating is 1) naked, and 2) sexually excited while at the same time horrified by her impending fate. And I have seen more variations on the theme of vore vs. sex than I can count, all the way from those who prefer NO 'normal' sexual content whatsoever to others who like a lot of sexual activity with their entree. If I'm RPing with another guy, for example, I want as little sexual reference as possible (preferably none!). Hence the line in the chat intro.
But never in my wildest dreams did I think that some would actually want to use it as a simple cyber-sex room. As has been pointed out, there are literally millions of other rooms for that purpose, while we vores have two... SwallowSoft and Yum-Chat. I personally will thank any op who kicks someone for trying to turn Yum-Chat into a voreless cyber-sex room! If you wanna eat, come on in and knock yourself out, but if you just wanna screw each other, sheesh, go somewhere else!
Now I don't mean by that that I think there should be bans on mentioning certain words, or even on including sex in a true vore scene. We all have different tastes. Myself, I don't really care about using the dumb old ogre as a stud. The few times I have (and yes, I have on occasion) were more because my RP partner wanted it than I did. I see nothing wrong with someone who wants a little screwing as an integral part of a vore scene. But, and I'm sorry if this offends anyone, really, if you have to type on a computer something like sex that is possible in RL (yes, 'normal' sex can be done in RL, heh), er, you're sorta pathetic. And completely out of place in a vore room.
This is a good time to point out that every scene doesn't always end in vore either... I remember one of YumFire's attempts that ended up with his meal escaping (OK, so that was so we could quietly jump over to IRC for a brutal scene, heh). I remember when a room was empty and Kill decided to teach the old ogre about the universe... which ended up with Rodent trying to explain gravity to him! *chuckles* That scene would have been out of place except for one reason: there was no one else around wanting to do a vore scene. (It also had plenty of vore references in it, like the ogre can think of anything other than food for very long, heh.) I don't want to squelch those type of imprompu scenes, just like I don't want to squelch a true vore scene with sex in it. They are fun and add spice to the rest of the scenes. They just cannot be the norm, they must be occasional and the exception.
Now I have to mention a little about that Y word. Sorry, but 'yiffing' is just sex. No more, no less, changing what you call it does not change what it is. That's the reason I have used fairly straight language so far, to emphasize that point. I think a lot of our problem with cyber-sex would go away if we outlawed THAT word! (hmmm, what does everyone think about a ban on the word 'yiff', or at least change it to 'screw' automatically? *evil grin*)
